From 1st September 2027, Kapka lesa Forest Kindergarten will be a kindergarten registered in the Register of Schools and School Facilities of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT). The kindergarten is founded and run by the association Lesní mateřská škola Kapka lesa z. s.
The forest kindergarten will open on 1st September 2027. It will have one class, called Kapičky (“Little Drops”). We will admit children who turn 3 by 31st December 2027 at the latest. Younger children may be admitted by individual arrangement.
Why we do it:
It all started with a chat on a playground about education – what we felt was missing and what we would want for our own children. We thought about what matters to us and, at the same time, what we enjoy experiencing with our children. We wanted to create a safe yet open space in nature for our children and the children of friends who, like us, value nature and learning from it. And so a place is taking shape that we want to care for together, where our children will gain knowledge as well as the social skills that will serve them in life. An important element are the traditional festivals that follow nature’s changes through the year, which help children perceive nature and the changes around us in a nature.
What we do:
- We live in harmony with nature – we experience it, observe it, learn from it and respect it in all its forms.
- We set out together on a journey on which we will explore, learn, build and experience lots of new things that will enrich us.
- As parents, we feel responsible for our children’s education and take an active part in their upbringing. We experience everything together and learn alongside them.
- We support children in their growth and self-fulfilment in connection with nature.
- We get to know traditions and festivals as the foundation of our cultural values.
